    1. Moisturize your skin everyday leading up to the day of your tan. Moisturized skin is best for spray tanning.

    2. Get any Mani-pedis or facial treatments done BEFORE your tanning appointment.

    3. The night before your tan: exfoliate using a gritty washcloth or exfoliating mitt. Avoid Dove, and Olay body products, and oil-based products.

    4. Do any shaving or waxing 48hrs before.

    5. Arrive to your appointment with loose dark fitting clothing. Please have no products of any kind on your skin. Meaning no deodorant, lotion, makeup.

    6. Prepare yourself for an effortless glow, and a pampering experience.

  • Spray tanning uses DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), a plant-derived ingredient from sugar beets and cane. When applied, DHA reacts with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin. This process is called the Maillard reaction, it creates a natural looking tan that develops over several hours.

    Many tanning solutions include bronzers or dyes for instant color. At Temple Tan, our bronzers are all plant-based and temporary, washing off easily. The DHA itself is clear, so your true tan develops gradually beneath the surface, revealing a natural, radiant glow.

    A common question is whether spray tanning affects fertility. Some ingredients in certain tans, like fragrances, phthalates, and parabens, can impact hormones.

    At Temple Tan, we only use solutions free from these ingredients. Our products are clean, dye free, and safe for sensitive skin even during pregnancy so you can enjoy a healthy, beautiful glow.

  • Contouring highlights the natural curves of your face and enhances your features. We use a slightly darker shade with a small airbrush to define the face, collarbones, and chest for a softly sculpted, polished look. Contouring is available in one natural medium shade, usually requires a marination time of 8 hours, and is perfect if you don’t want to wear makeup.
